Surprise visit

On our last day while making our way to the ferry port, Dieppe, we visited Duncan and Lynn (our landlords) who currently live in France and run a guest house from their home.  See the cider apples all bagged and ready to be pressed into cider and/or distilled into a lip smacking, "put fire in your belly" calvados.

Memories of D-Day

I don't think we quite knew what to expect...the stillness of Ohama Beach and the sombreness of the Normandy American Cemetry and Memorial at Colleville-sur-Mer ... makes it hard to put into words the thoughts and feelings one experiences when one is there.

Sunday afternoon walk in Goudhurst

We love walking in the surrounding areas...this walk was mainly through farmers' fields and an apple orchard. Look at the clouds...always makes me think of Geography class...signs of autumn everywhere too.
